While LA was rocking out to a sold out Excision show in LA’s Palladium, bass music aficionado SKisM sold out an eclectic night of his own in Las Vegas. Waving the flag of his highly prominent and quality bass music imprint Never Say Die Records alongside labelmates Laxx and Eptic, Sin City got just as sizable a wave as LA did that night. Each step up the stairs of the Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip came with consistently harder chest vibrations and excitement for the intense night to come.

This Hard Rock in particular is one of the promoter’s go-to booking destinations, partially due to the fact that it is dressed to the 9’s with music history all over the place. Though it looks small from a distance, the main dancing area never turns into an uncomfortable shoving fest, even when maneuvering from front and center to the huge patio outside to get a gander of the strip from a birds eye view.

A quick break from the action is more relaxing than normal on Hard Rock’s patio, but considering the venue’s soundsystem for this show the breaks wrapped up fast. In order to make sure everyone fully experience the relentless bass that Never Say Die is known for, JR Sound co was rung up for their Darnley Sound Lab Sub System; all bodies in this sold out audience got a better understanding of when people say that bass was meant to be felt, not heard.12628348_808949195917471_4018020928489099971_oIf this event proved anything, it’s that all hidden bassheads in town have officially been brought out of hiding. It was a sold out event, but you could tell that everyone was there because they wanted to be. In addition to spotting a healthy amount of Bass Music artist swag on in the venue, we noticed the excitement came from a recognition of a good majority of the beats. Classic tracks, unreleased bootlegs, and even some IDs you can still only hear on a YouTube rip were recognized and appreciated amongst the group of fans.

The first half of the night was filled with local talent, with Ravealation’s crew augmenting their sets to fit the raw nature of the main acts. Blurnt Squad, Weavy, Zaiaku, and Zack the Ripper did the honors of setting everyone up to be knocked down with a good chunk of their own favorite bangers. Then, one after the other, each Never Say Die artist came in and threw down some of the hardest sets the venue has seen.

Cleaning house is on the agendas of a promoter who knows good music and a label full of artists who aren’t afraid to pull out all the stops. It’s only January and Ravealation has already laid down a diabolical plot to continue domination of 2016 with the likes of Netsky, Bingo Players, Brillz, and many more. It’s not too late to make Las Vegas your new hometown.
