Governors Island is about to undergo a transformation this summer, as Eddie Dean- owner of Brooklyn club Schimanski- plans to take the reins on a whole new venue on the island. Though the aforementioned club typically books deeper and techno-flavored talent, this venue has booked a myriad of names from Hardwell to Richie Hawtin to Tiesto to Carl Cox.
All we know at the moment is that the events that will take place at this 2 stage, the 6-acre plan from June 17th on will range from “food and beverage events” and more social events ranging from a “yoga rave” to a “children’s family brunch.” Any party on an island in NYC is bound to be a great experience with the right planning; the views of the metropolitan area are stunning and the space is isolated, allowing everyone’s inner animal to show themselves a little easier.
