In preparation for their joint EP Step Brothers, G-Eazy and Carnage have unleashed a video for the first single, “Guala.”
Directed by Daniel CZ, the comical clip finds Young Gerald and Carnage’s alter-ego Thirty Rack stomping through downtown Los Angeles with playfully oversized heads.
“We wanted it to be sticky but not cheesy,” G-Eazy told Complex. “Plus we didn’t have to do any special effects to Carnage’s head since it’s that size in real life.”
The black-and-white visual highlights their brotherly bond with a jovial stroll, in which they shove one another, urinate on the streets, and check out a fly young lady with an oversized head of her own.
G-Eazy and Carnage, who’s produced tracks for Migos, Lil Uzi Vert, and Lil Yachty, go way back, making their four-track EP a natural collaborative process.
“It was easy,” said Gerald. “We did it in two nights. We’ve literally known each other forever and we both worked our asses off for years to come up and make it to this point. We’ve both always had that same level of ambition, even when we were unknown. That’s my brother for life so we’ll probably keep working together for the rest of our careers.”
Step Brothers, featuring 24hrs and Smoke Purp, is due March 31.
