In a Billboard “Hitmaker Roundtable,” Artists, songwriters, and A&Rs got together to talk about their inspirations and future projects. What we did not quite expect to hear during this 3 minutes and change was news of an uncanny studio session. Wendy Goldstein, Executive VP of Republic records, revealed that in two days there would be a recording session with Daft Punk and the Weekend, in a bit more of a nonchalant tone than we’d expect considering the magnitude of such a collaboration. Daft Punk’s new and much more soulful style is going to be an interesting compliment to The Weekend’s voice, so it goes without saying that we’re excited about this one.
