At this point, you may know all too well what happened Monday morning of EDC Vegas, memes and all. Plenty of blame was passed around for DJ Khaled’s flop at the festival, with the majority of attendees more on the side of EDC than Khaled himself. The Producer/Hype Man/DJ(?) had a chance to share his side of the story on Power 106 in Los Angeles, essentially expressing that they needed more time to set up his vinyl turntables and therefore delayed his set. Word spread that Khaled himself was late, but he disputes that, saying that he is always early…in this case, he says he hung out for an hour before going on, with his Snapchats showing proof of this. The other issue he saw with this specific gig was that he was not allowed to do a sound check, despite the fact that nobody received that chance. Here’s what he had to say:

“If the sound don’t work, I can’t control that, and I don’t even want to blame EDC because I’m a good person, stuff happens,” he said. “Was I frustrated about it not sounding good? Of course, I was, but at the end of the day, life goes on, it’s not a big deal. At least the people see me there, and I’m telling you the truth. But I like when people are honest, and whoever put the messaging out saying I wasn’t there, that’s dishonesty.”
