…Yeah, you heard us.

One of two unique bookings to the EDC roster this year was Metro Boomin’, a prolific Hip-Hop Producer who’s set at this year’s affair just blew up in a way many may not have expected. Three songs in, Drake came out of nowhere and performed “Jumpman,” “Gyalchester,” and “Pop Style,” and then just kinda peaced out. Needless to say, shock ensued. Drake expressed plenty of sentiments to the DJ during his performance; the two have been homies since meeting in Atlanta.

Admittedly, Boomin’s set was more hip-hop than electronic with the most beat-heavy being “I Gotta Feeling,” but the energy of his beats mirrors that of many electronic sound-filled trap hits we have come to enjoy, and the sudden appearance of an incredible lyricist in the middle of the show. Check the cameras for proof: an entire crowd of EDM lovers swarmed and crowded the front of the stage to see it. That’s a successful set in our book.
