HARD Events and Holy Ship will now be taken over by Live Nation after this weekend’s HARD Summer. Gary Richards AKA Destructo, the creator of HARD, announced his departure from the company earlier this week that his contract is now up with LV and doesn’t plan on resigning.

“I am leaving Live Nation after this week’s Hard event to pursue an incredible new opportunity that I will share with everyone in the weeks to come. Accordingly, I will not be attending or curating the next Holy Ship cruise event in 2018,” Richards wrote.

This news has caused a huge outburst from Hard fans, Shipfam, and artists all over social media and throughout the music industry. The hashtag, #NoShipNoGary started trending on Twitter and more hashtags erupted including “NoLineupNoPayment,” “InGaryWeTrust,” and so on.

There is now an online petition called “No Gary No Ship” with 2,500 signatures already! Although we’re hopeful, it seems like Gary and his friends won’t be making it to Hoky Ship 2018.

Tweets of sadness and appreciation for what Gary has done have gone viral, from Dirtybird announcing they won’t be on Holy Ship 2018, to Skrillex, Alex Metric, and more expressing their feelings about the ordeal.

One thing is for sure, HARD has brought all of us together through music, and Destructo will keep that legacy going, whether it’s through HARD or not.
