It seems like there was a whole lot of truth to Mike Posner’s “I Took a Pill In Ibiza” after a certain panel in the country.
At IMS Ibiza, DJ and Producer Erick Morillo opened up about his drug use that had detrimental effects. In one part of his talk, for example, he explains how the use of Ketamine on his arm almost made him lose the body part completely, requiring a huge infected chunk of it to be slashed instead. Erick also admits how his addiction caused him to be arrested, led to his divorce, and caused him to be removed from many of his gigs.
“At one point, I couldn’t even urinate. Every time I tried, it would be stuck and the pain meant I had to go to hospital where they put me to sleep. When I woke up, they had slashed some of my arm off because it was so infected from putting ketamine in it.”
“My ego couldn’t take that I wasn’t the top dog anymore. That’s when things started to unravel.”
Ata time where EDM is exploding, it’s easy for ravers and producers to turn to drugs as a means of comfort. However, they could lead to disastrous effects, and it’s best to learn from Erick’s example to avoid something that could harm your life forever.
