It can become a fun guessing game between friends in a given camping group to guess what big artist is sneaking around the sacred grounds of the Empire Polo Fields and waiting in the wings to jump onstage. The performance that Kesha was about to deliver, though, was exceedingly more important than a fun impromptu song. The singer revealed herself during Zedd’s set to sing “True Colors,” a song she was rumored to be a part of, and put her heart and soul into giving the lyrics meaning. “I won’t apologize for the fire in my eyes” was more resonant than it had ever been considering the recent circumstances.
