You can say commitment is admirable, and you’d be right. In the case of DJ Pauly D, commitment to being a successful DJ is what essentially earned him his spotlight, his bookings, and his paycheck of $11 Million a year.

When Complex decided to do a story on him, they highlighted the very real factors that led to this success; from his 2008 MySpace Profile to his antics on Jersey shore to the stage presence and uncanny ability to read his crowd.

“All the other [cast members] could do club appearances, because they couldn’t do anything else,” said one of his two managers, Larry Rudolph. “The last thing Pauly would want to do is these club appearances where he just shows up and sits on the couch.”

“I wanted to work to my dream, not just be some reality show DJ,” said Pauly. “There are still some skeptics, and how I prove them wrong is just with my DJ skills.”

What really interested us was his perfect high school attendance and grades, more so the fact that he was afraid to talk about such accomplishments fro fear of being “uncool.” This need to be the cooler of the bunch seems to be what steered him down the extravagant path that he’s on today as a star selected, much to the changing of…well, a lot of people.
