After mysterious N.E.R.D. posters began popping up around Los Angeles this week, which sparked rumors of a possible reunion, it now appears the iconic music trio are officially returning to action. Moments ago, their new single “Lemon” featuring Rihanna, was debuted on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Apple Music radio show, marking their first new release since their contributions on the SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water soundtrack back in 2014.
Meanwhile, the single arrives accompanied with a video starring Rihanna that begins with some familiar words: “No_one Ever Really Dies.” Don’t be surprised if this ends up being the title for their new project. To coincide with the release, N.E.R.D. has also debuted a new “Training Gear” collection with adidas featuring graphics from Korean artist Buzcha.
