An honestly disturbing video came to the light from InTheMix today, documenting a security guard being attacked by an attendee of Good Life Festival in Perth, Australia. An individual who had apparently snuck into the festival is seen wrestling the guard, with another guy jumping in and kicking I’m in the head when he was already down. We can bad mouth security all we want for what we may have personally experienced at festivals, but we can probably all agree that something like this isn’t right; we wish the best for the guard and his loved ones.

The safety of Good Life attendees and staff is our highest priority. Promoters do not condone violence of any kind, and take these issues extremely seriously.

Following the incident on site, the security guard in question was immediately attended to by medical teams and taken to hospital by an on-site ambulance for assessment. He was discharged a few hours later. Good Life promoters will continue to monitor his well-being. The incident is being investigated by the Police.

Good Life works months in advance of each city to put detailed security and contingency plans in place, working carefully with stakeholders to ensure the safety of our patrons.

Billed as the “ultimate day for under-18s”, Good Life is a drug- and alcohol-free event. All patrons are breathalysed at entry, with random drug testing also conducted at the front entrance, promoters confirmed. While no motive has been confirmed for the attack, some Facebook users are speculating that the alleged assailants had jumped a fence to illegally gain entry. “How the fuck do people find this okay!” wrote one user. “This is someone’s father, someone’s son, grandson! You two boys are the scum of the earth.”
