This year’s 9th annual Soundset Festival returns back to the Twin Cities and is expected to be the biggest yet! As Atmosphere comes back home to play Soundset, following up their headlining play at the Target Center for the Rhymesayers 20 anniversary show. A$AP Rocky returns to Minnesota to perform at Soundset for the first time since the 2015 release of his #1 album, At.Long.Last.A$AP. The prolific Future joins the roster this year after becoming the fastest rapper to have three albums hit #1. The Roots take a break from their gig as the house band at The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to join us at Soundset this year, as will Grammy and Oscar Award winner Common. Rhymesayers act Prof joins the lineup following the release of his 2015 album, Liability, along with fellow Minneapolis powerhouse, Doomtree. Machine Gun Kelly, who has been balancing duties between supporting his album General Admission, and his acting role in Roadies, will make an appearance, and Detroit’s own Danny Brown, who has delivered several legendary stage moments, is sure to blow minds at Soundset. Following her 2015 release, Big GRRRL Small World and TV appearances on Late Night with David Letterman and Colbert, Soundset welcomes Lizzo’s high energy set to the stage. Aesop Rock and Homeboy Sandman (Lice) will be performing songs from their acclaimed Lice EP, while rap powerhouse TDE will be represented by Watts, California’s Jay Rock. Post Malone continues riding the wave he created with “White Iverson,” and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals will be celebrating the singer’s freshly-inked deal with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment. Raury will arrive at Soundset after releasing his All I Need album in 2015, and after an extended hiatus, Murs & 9th Wonder, who reunited on New Year’s Eve for their Brighter Daze project, will be hitting the stage. With a new album on the horizon, Pharoahe Monch will join Soundset as one of the genre’s most respected artists. Also gracing the Soundset stages this year will be the buzz worthy acts, Mick Jenkins, Goldlink, Buffet Boys standout Pouya, and The Breakscast member A-F-R-O. Odd Future representative Domo Genesis keeps his crew’s legacy alive at Soundset, while Rhymesayers affiliate and Ohio native Blueprint brings his unique perspective to the stage. Soundset is honored to host iconic hip-hop pioneers, DJ Marley Marl, Jazzy Joyce and Crazy Legs of Rock Steady Crew. Back again for his fourth year as the main stage master of ceremony is radio and television personality Sway Calloway of SiriusXM Shade 45, with additional stages hosted by Heather B, JPRATT & CROS One.

This year, Soundset boasts a full day of two Main Stages and the Fifth Element stage, delivering over 40 artists performing over ten hours of diverse Hip-Hop music, plus the Essential Elements tent featuring the 3rd-annual Freestyle Session Minnesota B-Boy/B-Girl competition. In addition, Ironlak & The SeventhLetter presents this year’s graffiti showcase, bringing some of the world’s most talented visual artists, featuring live painting by AQUA, EWOK, JURNE, MAST, MUCH, NMPH,
SOFLES and SOVIET.
