Unfortunately, it’s sad to announce the two deaths that occurred over the weekend at Sunset Music Festival in Tampa, Florida. 30,000 people attended the event at the Raymond James Stadium where 57 attendees were hospitalized, 25 charged with felonies, and two reported deaths. An ER nurse who aided 40 of the 57 festival attendees at St. Joe’s, said she saw “back-to-back dehydrated children, all on Molly.”

Amongst the news and headlines, Tampa Bay’s Mayor, Bob Buckhorn voiced his opinion on the ordeal.

“The [Tampa] Sports Authority, they need to look at whether that is an appropriate type of event for this community to host. . . The types of drugs that tend to be associated with those electronic dance music festivals obviously catastrophic results who make bad decisions.”

The mayor stated that if it was up to him, the festival would not happen next year. It is up to the Sports Authority to decide whether or not the music festival will return and if it is suitable for this kind of venue. The Mayor has ordered police and fire departments to report the incidents that occurred at the festival during the weekend.
