Mike Posner wrote a hit song about going a little too hard on the Magic Island and believe it or not, pissed off said island’s whole tourism team for doing it. The singer/songwriter responsible for helping pen lyrics for such artists as Pharrell Williams and Maroon 5 is especially good at making clever lyrics for his own voice and carrying the point home. Sadly, this particular point seems to have driven Tourism Chief Vicent Ferer to send him an invitation to be rid of his apparent mis-labeling of the island’s majesty:

“We have invited the author of this song to discover Ibiza because we have much more to offer besides the nightlife which is known worldwide,” the island’s tourism director, Vicent Ferrer, told AFP.

“We have museums, beaches, culture, gastronomy, we have a wide offer but unfortunately we have been typecast this way. Unfortunately someone who wants to consume pills or alcohol can be found in any tourist destination, the fact that it is only us who are pigeonholed does not seem fair.”

We’re sure there are other great aspects to the Spanish destination, but the numerous giant clubs, including one inside of the airport that allows you to leave your luggage at the door, will make it known first and foremost as a party capital of the world. Ibiza’s fight to make the world think otherwise will be quite an uphill battle. Read the full story here.

We wish the best to Posner if he decides to take the trip, and hopes he keeps it classier than last time.
