The Weeknd is coming up on his next studio album, “Chapter 6.” The announcement was made live during a show in Toronto where he performed with Bryson Tiller and Nav. “Being in Toronto these past two days, I haven’t been this inspired in years,” The Weekend admitted to a screaming audience before dropping the bombshell. “And I want you guys to be the first to know I’m working on my new album right now.”

It seems to have been impromptu:

He then went on Twitter to briefly disclose how heavy this newest package is going to be. “Some chapters are shorter than others,” he writes. “Not this one though…” The Weekend’s last album was as recent as March but despite that, it looks like we’re in for a whole new package of material.

Able dropped My Dear Melancholy back in March, and hasn’t promoted any new projects since then. 2018 was an interesting year for Abel. He stayed relevant on the charts through the success of the Black Panther album, and graced his day one fans with an EP that sounded like throwback Abel. The lustful singer took to Twitter to post a cryptic message hinting at the direction of Chapter 6. “Some chapters are smaller than others. not this next one though,” he wrote. We’re ready.
