HARD created a lineup that threw us back to the old BET days with Fat Joe, Ice Cube, and DJ Khaled and got us pumped for quality electronic music with Bob Moses, AC Slater, Drezo, San Holo, Kaytranada, Green Velvet, and Mr. Carmack + today’s Hip-Hop artists that are dominating the airwaves such as Anderson. Paak, DJ Mustard, Travi$ Scott, Ty Dolla $ign among many others. The mystery in your head may have to do with the information provided to the side of the poster: what and where and why exactly is the Auto Club Speedway, you ask?

The new venue presents some advantages for the seasoned promoter, despite the fact that this is their first rodeo there. There’s plenty of room to camp, as the venue itself fully spans over 500 acres. While it is unclear how this ensue will be set up, the organizers should not have too many issues organizing everything where it needs to go.

Most importantly, though, is the excitement and trust expressed by the venues owners. In local news, the Speedway’s president Dave Allen expressed extreme interest in non-sporting events there:

“We have been working on relationships within the music industry for years, and in fact held a music festival here in 2010 with headliners Kiss, Eminem and Blink182.”

HARD Summer is poised to serve up a great new experience, but they also may be in a trial period. They have not confirmed any future festivals at this venue, so time and execution will tell we can look forward to multiple HARD shows at this new area.
