Austin, TX-based electronic music producer, 1st Base Runner, is proud to present his album ‘Seven Years of Silence’, an 8-track LP that encompasses the genres of trip-hop, dark grunge, and goth pop. He popped onto our airwaves when he teased the album’s first single, “All Thoughts“. Since then, 1st Base Runner has been on a non-stop grind to finish the album and has even teamed up with the legendary Matt Mahurin (directed Tom Waits “Hell Broke Luce”, Alice in Chains “No Excuses”, “Angry Chair” and music videos for Sturgill Simpson, Soundgarden, Metallica, Hole, and others) commission by Dilly Gent (Radiohead’s creative director and live television/media producer) for the opening track ‘Break Even’. Although the release and related projects seem to be moving quickly, ideas and concept for the album have been in the works for years. The time it took can be considered a cleanse or reboot from 1st Base Runner’s with previous music and art projects.

“It was something that had to be made. I had tried to suppress the concepts and ideas explored in the 8 tracks for several years. It is my willingness to be vulnerable and laid bare before others in an attempt to glimpse some fundamental truths about what it means to be here and to be present. It is an exploration of expectations and shortcomings and how they in turn will make us all the more uniquely human. No one gets out with clean hands, not on this ride, and not in this lifetime.”

The album in its entirety is an expansive soundscape. An audio experience that takes you into a dark, gray landscape that works exceptionally well for lovers of Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Explosions In The Sky and the like. It’s got groove, darkness, and the sort of grunge unique to this electronic music experience.
