Three days ago, Calvin Harris, after teasing new music on the horizon, made a social media announcement about Love Regenerator. While we didn’t know exactly what it was, we knew a new project was on the horizon and two new singles were coming out on Friday.

Well, Friday came early in the music world and then some, even though we may have work tomorrow. Harris released “Love Regenerator 1,” an EP that consists of now only the two singles we were promised, but two additional tracks.

“I wanted to rediscover the way I originally began producing music 22 years ago,” Harris is quoted in a press release, “before I ever thought about how it might be perceived by outside forces. Just pure fun and experimentation with what sounded good to me. The records are inspired by early rave, breaks, techno and house, the music I was obsessed with growing up. In fact, I’ve done everything I can to make them sound like they’ve come from a 1991 time capsule. Every synth and sound used is from that time period.”

Love Regenerator seems to not only hold the title of this EP, but also a new alias for the DJ. It is registered as its own verified artist on Spotify, and the sounds created are different from Calvin’s usual. Love Regenerator is much more house, acid, and techno influenced, with each EP distinct in their own way.

Give a listen below, and let us know your thoughts! We can’t wait to see what else Love Regenerator brings us in the future.
