Snapchat is one of the most popular apps among young teens and music fans alike. If you’re attending a festival, there’s a good chance you’ll spot an attendee recording their favorite set to give their friends FOMO. If you’re a heavy Snapchat user, sometimes you might have found yourself in the position where you record a tune you haven’t heard before and then scrambling to switch to an app like Shazam to figure out what the name of it is. But thanks to a Snapchat update today, this problem has been solved.

In a new partnership announced today, Shazam will now be integrated into Snapchat’s app naively. This means that when a song plays in the background, all you have to do is press and hold on the Snapchat screen and the song will be automatically identified providing information about the artist, title, video and related songs. It’s then possible to send the song as a Snap to a friend.
