The man behind HARD, the DJ behind Destructo, Gary Richards is a man of multiple talents. His most recent EP, “West Coast” displayed his ultimate versatility of making music. One genre does not define him because he’s always pushing boundaries and blending a mixture of electronic and hip-hop/rap.

Touring city to city, from Philadelphia, to Louisiana, Destructo has taken his Renegade Tour to venues across America. He obviously had to represent the “West Coast” due to his album title, as he  played the historic Avalon Hollywood, Friday October 14th. Los Angeles had no idea what they were in for that night.

Although the night anticipated VINDATA, E-40, and of course Destructo on the roster, his whole crew came along surprising attendees with Ty Dolla $ign, Too Short, and Problem. Talk about West Coast rappers, the crowd went from hyped during E-40’s set at midnight, to, well, lit, as soon as the rest of the surprise guests rolled through the night.

Destructo and Ty Dolla $ign opened up with their track, “For Real,” and the crowd went wild. Both of them continued to prove that genres can be bended and mixed with the right skills. A flow of hip hop, rap verses, and the beats from the speakers created the perfect atmosphere for the night.

Too Short was the next guest to set the club on fire by performing “Blow The Whistle,” as fans crowded the stage and a party started to erupt. On top of endless house tracks and groovy tunes, the night wouldn’t have been a success without Problem performing tracks like the signature “Dare You 2 Move,” and their most recent track, “Winning.” What a gift this was for the attendees and especially for Ship Fam.

The night went into electronic mode when the Night Bass crew, AC Slater and Wax Motif joined a back to back set with Destructo until the late hours after 1AM. Countless heavy hitting tracks were being played one after another, as if it was the Sunrise Sermon on HARD’s beloved Holy Ship. One thing that was spotted, usually always spotted where Destructo is, was a Pineapple.

The whole night catered to the fans who are all about HARD and who like to go hard. Avalon was transformed into Destructo’s own world, a takeover that only HARD fans know and love. One things for sure, Destructo always knows how to throw a party, whether is HARD Summer, Holy Ship, or an intimate club like Avalon, this was no different.
