In a completely unsurprising move, the Chicago Cubs have fired one of their team DJs. Last week during a game, he played “Smack My Bitch Up” by The Prodigy. Aside from the explicit lyrics that aren’t appropriate for a family friendly venue like a baseball game, he also played it while newly acquired pitcher Aroldis Chapman was exiting the mound. For those who don’t follow baseball,

Chapman was suspended earlier this season for 30 games after an alleged domestic violence incident where he was accused of choking his girlfriend and firing several shots. The organization released this statement following the move:

“The selection of this track showed a lack of judgment and sensitivity to an important issue. We have terminated our relationship with the employee responsible for making the selection and will be implementing stronger controls to review and approve music before public broadcast during our games.” – Club President Crane Kenney
