Skrillex has been quite active in his labs as of late, finishing up tracks for the likes of Camila Cabello as well as a remix for Kendrick Lamar among others. With that in mind, it shouldn’t be too big of a surprise that he’s also contributing to the Pendulum remix album, due for release at the end of June. A dedicated fan caught a quick clip of his take on Pendulum’s famous “The Island, pt. 1.”

Ekali got his sticky fingers on it to test drive for his own fans; the sped up vocals mean the drop comes that much sooner. And drop it does; a metallic sounding synth leads the melody forward, including Skrillex’s signature vocal chops “singing” the unforgettable melody of the original piece in the background. The crowd at the Novo was very lucky to experience that moment in the flesh; we can only hope to see more remixes from this album pop up in the future before the album is out on June 29th.
