Artists are becoming more and more aware of their health in a universe where previously, it had not always been addressed properly. The music community has lost a lot of greats in the past, most notably and recently that of Avicii. Since then, there has been a slight rise in artists recognizing that they are going through a lot, and taking breaks to remedy the situation before going back out and creating more music.

At the beginning of the month, Headhunterz announced that he was canceling all of his December shows. The Dutch native kept the shows in his Netherlands homeland but needed time and space to get back to a healthy place. The statement released stated that

“The coming weeks will be spent to rest, recharge and focus on his health. By limiting the stress that is an inevitable part of his professional life, we trust that he gets the space he needs to recover and can once again devote himself to his passion: making music and performing.”

Headhunterz fans were supportive, and the artist took some time off to rest. Fans got an update the other day, via an announcement made on the Instagram account. The update stated that while he was doing better, he would not be traveling until the end of January so that he could continue to improve.

See the statement from his team and the Instagram announcement below:

Dear fans,

We’re pleased to update you and let you know that Willem is feeling better and that his condition is improving. Willem will not travel until the end of January so he can continue to take time for himself and ensure that he can come back to the stage in full force.

Although December’s international shows have been cancelled, two shows are still taking place in the Netherlands this month. Tonight he will perform at Paradiso (Amsterdam) in the premiere of the brand new show concept @orangeheart alongside @keltekmusic & @djrandofficial. Willem also performed last Saturday at the Music Dome (Kerkrade) and tested the waters of being back on stage for the first time in a while.

Thank you very much for your kind messages. The love & understanding that our community has shown over the past few weeks is truly remarkable. We see all of your Orange Hearts loud and proud, and want to make it clear that your words have been received and forwarded and that they mean the world to Willem.

Until further notice, posts on Willem’s accounts are still being done by his team.

Kind Regards,
Team Headhunterz
