Jake Stanczack AKA Kill the Noise made a remix without worrying about a hyped up promo schedule or a big drop on streaming services; his take on Slipknot’s ‘Duality’ from their 2004 album Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) was a project born from passion. The production shows the careful attention, Stanczack paid to maintain the energy of the original, even when he lets loose with the intense synth play at the drop. He posted a note for those interested in knowing why he created it:

hey everyone. this remix is just a tribute to one of my favorite bands. Not just cause they have made some of my favorite songs, but also what they’ve been through. I don’t want to dwell on it, but those familiar with their past know there have been a lot of ups and downs for them. I relate to some of it – maybe you do too – and I think what makes songs like this important to me, is being able to relate to another person dealing with shit. Hope you enjoy listening to this. I had a lot of fun fuckin around with it and put a lot of surprises in there. -Jake

It’s always great to hear thoughtful, faithful tributes to a musician’s favorite musician. This is a tune that’s great enough to echo in several DJ sets through the end of festival season and beyond.
