Before the FOX 11 article spread like wildfire in the West Coast rave community, the Mayor of Inglewood has not banned HARD SUMMER or future festivals from Hollywood Park (adjacent to SoFi Stadium).

Over the last week, many articles have been written about the noise complaints from local neighborhoods during HARD SUMMER at Hollywood Park on August 3rd and 4th. The loud music and vibrating bass could be heard and felt across Los Angeles’ Westside, from Culver City to Manhattan Beach.

The El Segundo Police Department said it received several noise complaints on Saturday.

“We are aware of the loud booming sound affecting the city,” the department posted on X. “It is originating from a music festival near SoFi Stadium. … There is no need to call 911 to report.”

While a lot of rumors and unconfirmed sources were claiming HARD SUMMER was banned from the future at Hollywood Park (adjacent to SoFi Stadium), the Mayor of Inglewood, James T. Butts, Jr., recently released a statement claiming no such thing but rather banning stages from the elevated American Airlines Plaza, which was where the PINK stage was held.

It was determined that the stage placement in the American Airlines Plaza, which is elevated, was a major contributor to the issue. Consequently, no stages will be permitted in this area for future events. Additionally, we will require even greater sound engineering with a more comprehensive plan when it comes to addressing sound and bass frequency management. – James T. Butts, Jr.

There is no word yet on whether the festival will return in 2025; despite the local neighborhoods complaining, most people who attended HARD, myself included, gave the venue many positive reviews as it was massive enough to hold the crowd and stages. Might I say Hollywood Park was made for this festival? Only time will tell.
