Forget unnecessary snark from Deadmau5, now Skrillex and Justin Bieber have a bigger issue on their hands.
White Hinterland, legally known as Casey Dienel, has filed a lawsuit against the two for the infectious vocal effect used in Sorry. On a listen to the plaintiff’s own song “Ring the Bell,” it won’t take lawyers too long to hear the similarities that she’s talking about.
To Skrillex’s credit though, that vocal effect is a small piece of the whole puzzle, as infectious as it is; Sorry differs greatly from Ring the Bell in it’s overall vibe, lyrical content, and a good amount of instrumentation.
Skrillex gives a small update regarding the allegations.
SORRY but we didnt steal this ???????? @justinbieber @bloodpop pic.twitter.com/9897j9sfY7

We’ll leave it to you to make the decision, though:
Totally Stolen. Skrillex just slows it down so it sounds off pitch. Listen to whats in the videos you posted. Its the same thing.
