We’ve talked about Goldenvoice’s permission to get another festival to the sacred green (or green and light brown if it’s Coachella weekend 2) grass of the Empire Polo Fields. We couldn’t have imagined this, though; speculation alludes to the booking of Sir Paul McCartney, The Who, Bob Dylan, Roger Waters, Neil Young. The three-day festival is set to take place October 7th – 9th at the Empire Polo Grounds. As the LA Times notes, Dylan and The Stones are to play back to back on Friday to open the festival. Young and McCartney will follow on Saturday, with The Who and Waters closing out the event on Sunday.

“It’s so special in so many ways,” said Young’s longtime manager, Elliot Roberts, “because you won’t get a chance to see a bill like this, perhaps ever again. It’s a show I look forward to more than any show in a long time.”

We’ll believe it before we see it, too, but the in-depth article from Los Angeles Times explaining the details is hard to refute.
