The story of the afro-bass warrior known as Benga reached the pinnacle of his career during the rise of UKG and dubstep in the late 2000s, when the music’s influence was attaining it global reach. Sadly, due to his deteriorating mental health, Benga called it quits in early part of 2014 to ‘start a family’, later on he would admit that much of his ‘retirement’ was attributed to his battle with schizophrenia.
2016 has been a completely start for Benga, with the recent announcement of his return in late 2015, he brings in a new chapter of his musical career with a back-to-back performance at the infamous FabricLondon venue, unveiling a new Future Funk EP and his return to the DJ Booth.
