Will Smith returned to music officially with an exclusive interview on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show. His return to music was pretty huge for all who remember jamming to “Summertime” for the first through hundred times and beyond. Smith’s feature on Bomba Estereo’s “Fiesta” was only the first of his comeback tracks; this latest live video of Smith in action revealed his upcoming comeback collaboration with DJ Jazzy Jeff entitled “Get Lit.” Now at first, this seems nerve-wracking— the title of the song itself, and the fact that it is an EDM- driven track may raise red flags in a purist’s head about the substance of the song. Worry not; though the production does indeed sound similar to a lot of tracks you’d hear at a festival mainstage, the way Smith applies his own style to the verses around the beat makes the usual formula sound fresh to our ears. Smith has not announced a release date for this track, but after premiering it at Livewire Festival, we’re sure to hear some kind of official preview soon.
