After releasing his second LP 10 Ways To Steal Home Plate last week to a host of critical acclaim, US dance pioneer Wolfgang Gartner has announced two special live performances to celebrate the album’s debut.
Headlining Avalon in Los Angeles on March 5 and Webster Hall in New York on March 12, Gartner will make his long-awaited return to the dance floor following a year hiatus from touring. Before calling off his tour for health reasons, the Grammy-nominated beatmaker had never taken more than two months off since he began performing in 2003.
Having graced the stages of Coachella, Lollapalooza, Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Zoo and North Coast Music Festival with his maximalist take on electro house, Gartner’s revisit to live DJing is just the breath of veteran air that today’s oversaturated dance music market needs.
Released last week via his own Kindergarten Recordings, 10 Ways To Steal Home Plate is a swirling cauldron of sounds and tempos, bubbling over with bona fide dancefloor igniters from across the genre spectrum as Gartner reestablishes his reign as one of dance music’s leading innovators.
