Both of the LA-based DJ collective Madhouse DJs, Diego Zeledon and Shaun Cruda have yet another musical weapon for dancefloors in Los Angeles and beyond the dance floor: their new collaboration on No Religion Lab, Cassette, already has people buzzing within the underground scene. A tech-house jam by nature, Cassette educates us on the spread of dance music with a vocal sample smack in the middle of the groove. “The origin of that vocal is from old Chicago interview talking about cassette tapes and boomboxes, Zeledon says. “Who’s not a fan of those?”

He and Cruda certainly are, with the latter producer a collector of vintage ghetto blasters. The two stayed analog with the sounds in the track, writing everything with analog machines like the Roland 909 and 303. The vibes of the track fit right in with tracks these SoCal natives play in resident gigs at Exchange and Academy. Zeledon and Cruda are warming up to provide you with more dance floor heaters in the very near future, and you should expect this one to come front and center amongst other bangers in their digital DJ bag.
