Governors Ball has been present in New York festival culture for a long while as the brainchild of Founder’s Entertainment, a local and independent promoter in the city. They haven’t faced stiff completion until this year- A.E.G. Life and Goldenvoice’s sudden announcement of the “East Coast Coachella” formally known Panorama Festival is coming despite a petition to stop the event in its tracks.
It’s because of this new, stiff competition that it has joined forces with Live Nation to assist with this Governers Ball. Even though this festival has been around long enough to have better relationship with the city, there is a considerable risk with this new 3-day event entering the market. It’s because of this that partners Tom Russell and Jordan Wolowitz made the decision to summon Live Nation’s resources as a means to expand and remain to do what they love doing.
Governer’s ball is set to take place at Randall’s Island Park June 3-5 and features Kanye West, Bob Moses, Galantis, and Purity Ring, among many others.
