Burial is back with a double release, kicking off with the 12-minute journey “Chemz.” the length of the track isn’t the only call back to old school dance music: the track explores vocal samples, synths and breakbeats that call back the earlier days of electronic music. The track has three “movements” so to speak; while the instrumentation differs, the vocal sample retains its sound, though it’s manipulated differently in the 7 minutes and two three minute chunks. For those anxious to hear the next track on the EP “Dolphinz,” you’re gonna have to wait until April. Regardless, there’s plenty of great content to check out from this year, like his collaboration with Thom Yorke and Four Tent.

The track is available to download right now on Bandcamp.
