DIRTYBIRD has partnered with SHE IS THE MUSIC for a four-day ‘Women in Music’ digital festival to uplift femme-identifying dance artists across the globe—one of the brand’s cornerstone initiatives as it opens a new chapter for itself in 2021. The event will take place from March 11-14 on DIRTYBIRD’s Twitch, and Mija, LOUISAHHH!!!, Gina Turner, Uffie, Nala, Worthy, LP Giobbi, Lauren Flax, and Jenniluv are among those slated to perform.
Women In Music features an array of veteran and emerging talent, all bound by their proclivity for cutting-edge shades of dance music. Indie dance and house icon Mija will be headlining the event in addition to hosting her own ‘Welcome To My House’ bloc, while LOUISAHHH!!! is set to put her virtual audience in a trance with her distinctive French electro sonics.
Beyond Women In Music’s headliners, DIRTYBIRD has assembled a robust roster of underground movers and shakers. Expect plenty of leftfield house and techno from LA figurehead Jenniluv of Making Shapes fame. Femme House Collective boss LP Giobbi will make her DIRTYBIRD virtual debut, while label resident Nala is bringing Uffie along to her TV Party bloc. Worthy, Lauren Flax, Alinka, Victoria Rawlins, DJ Holographic, PZB Live, Black Girl / White Girl, Taylor Bratches, and Camea additionally provide a wide spectrum of styles to the weekender bacchanale. She’s The Music will be supporting all those involved.
DIRTYBIRD made sure to balance out Women In Music’s programming with immersive activations outside the beats. Gina Turner will be hosting a yoga workshop to kick off the festivities on March 11, and other activities that will be revealed closer to the event. Additionally, femme-identifying fans are encouraged to contribute directly to the festivities by sending the label a clip about what being a Women in Music means to them; choice ones will be selected and shared throughout the celebration to build further awareness and connection.
