Okeechobee Festival had fewer arrests than last year, but that doesn’t mean less illegal substances. 21 total arrests happened over the weekend, compared to 65 last year.

Along with amnesty boxes, K-9 searches, and pat downs, the Okeechobee County found countless drugs and paraphernalia, posting the details to their Facebook page. They even included a picture and a list of total illicit items found, including 6 pounds of marijuana.
Sheriff Noel Stephen addressed the arrests Friday: “We welcome anyone that travels to Okeechobee for the music fest and encourage them to enjoy the festival. However, we will do all we can to eliminate as many drugs coming into Okeechobee County. With the help of assisting agencies, the weekend searches resulted in a lot of narcotics taken off the streets.”
