Former vocalist for Crystal Castles, Alice Glass has spoken out against her alleged sexual, physical, and psychological abuser, her former band member, Ethan Kath. Since the news has broken out, over 10 Crystal Castles shows have been canceled, from San Diego to Toronto.
Alice has written a detailed statement explaining her departure from the group in 2014 and what unfortunate circumstances she endured. Crystal Castles was everything to her and she didn’t leave because she wanted to, but because she had to.
Ethan denies Alice’s allegations and claims “her story is pure fiction” and he says he has “many witnesses” that will vouch for him, yet it’s not looking good. No one wants to support someone whose allegations of sexual, physical, and mental abuse.
Ethan and Alice originally founded Crystal Castles, but once Alice left in 2014, Edith Frances stepped in. Alice is so brave to come out and speak about her hardships which helps others cope with their own similar struggles.

Leaving Crystal Castles was the single most difficult decision I’ve ever made—that band was everything to me. My music, my performances, and my fans were all I had in the world. I gave that up and started over not because I wanted to but because I had to. As difficult as it was, I knew that leaving was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It has taken me years to recover from enduring almost a decade of abuse, manipulation and psychological control. I am still recovering.
