Diplo’s likely got a load on his mind following the Grammy’s; based on what he said before the ceremony last October, we think one topic is the return of his highly praised collaborative project with Skrillex. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the producer mentioned that Jack Ü has been on his mind for a while.
Rolling Stone: You’ve been teasing the return of Jack Ü. Is that something we could see soon?
Diplo: Could be next year. I think Skrillex has a lot of material he’s been gearing to release. When that happens I think we might be able to do some new stuff, but I’ve worked on a lot of ideas for the project. It’s all in due time. There’s not any rush for it or anything.
Skrillex’s reaction to his nomination for Midnight Hour around this time was also telling: the producer thanked his fans and said he was excited for the release of his “albums.” For all we know, he’s plotting the return while making new content as well.
This is the time to expect some kind of movement from both parties, so stay tuned for some potential surprises.
