The unimaginable has happened, an Insomniac festival was officially postponed. It was announced across Pasquale’s and Insomniac’s social platforms on March 12th. Amidst all the coronavirus madness that has taken over the globe, festival season around the world has essentially been canceled. From postponed events to full cancelations one by one the domino effect continued. Insomniac, however, continues to lead the industry in event and guest experience by doing what they do best, blowing our expectations out of the water.

As it currently stands, Beyond Wonderland SoCal is postponed to June 19 – 21, 2020 at its traditional stomping grounds, the NOS center in San Bernardino, CA. For festival-goers who plan to also attend Beyond Wonderland at The Gorge the weekend before, June 12 – 14 2020, are in for a b2b treat.

Pasquale Rotella’s latest trend setting accomplishment, creating a unique and intimate music experience for headliners to connect via streaming. Through the ashes, Virtual Beyond 2020 rose through. Over a million viewers streamed Virtual Beyond on Youtube and Twitch over two days. Virtual Beyond still took place the same weekend Beyond Wonderland was originally scheduled between 8pm-midnight. Day one of this historical moment consisted of 4B, Audien, Jack Beats, Kill the Noise, Mija, Party Favor, Saymyname & Wax Motif. Day two had a treat of having an extra artist on the lineup which also consisted of Dr. Fresch, Drezo, Schade, Loud Luxury, Elephante, JSTJR, Monxx, Svdden Death and finally Joyryde.

Every artist really brought their absolute best to the table. Each a touching and inspirational moment sharing with Pasquale before sets how they were feeling. Although it would have been nice to see Ookay perform, who was originally scheduled for Day 2, it was great to see SoCal local Schade reach another milestone in his ever-evolving career. The set was absolutely breath taking. The use of the neon color scheme & lighting techniques embodied the Beyond Wonderland concept. You could not help but be in awe watching any artist perform in this captivating space. Even the contrast of the bright colors and lights to the black of the setup felt purposeful.

The feedback from Virtual Beyond has been no short of positive. From thank you messages to Pasquale & Insomniac to creative meme content for all of the rave community to bond over. Virtual Beyond was more than a stream. It was more than watching artists on a screen. Through the practice of social distancing, it brought people together in a new way. Group video calls with rave fams and at home partying fun-filled timelines and stories everywhere. That is what makes Insomniac different from all the rest. Remember to stay home, stay safe, stay positive.

Editors Note: When things get back to “normal” and festival season is thriving again, we would love to see Insomniac do a pre-game virtual rave-a-thon stream a day before their festivals to hype everyone up for the big party.
