Robin S. Confirmed on the Day Trip Festival Lineup 2023 As She Will Be Performing LIVE in Long Beach
The legendary Robin S. will be performing her classic hit “Show Me Love” LIVE at Insomniac’s House festival, Day Trip Festival. According to recent tour dates on her official website, she is set to perform on Saturday, June 24th.
2023 will mark the 30th anniversary of her debut album “Show Me Love,” which came out in 1993, but the iconic single was first released in 1990 in the United Kingdom and later in the United States in 1992. It became one of the most well-known house anthems in the UK and throughout the US, and Robin’s biggest hit to date. It helped to make house more mainstream. The song made it to the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, a rare feat for a house song at the time.
The song was also prominently sampled in Beyoncé’s 2022 single “Break My Soul”. As a direct result, various record labels, corporations, and other artists inquired about licensing the song’s master recordings for various purposes. Robin S. further praised Beyoncé for acknowledging and appreciating her music, calling it “one of the highest compliments ever.”
