Yesterday marked the 19th anniversary of the beautiful R&B singer, Aaliyah. In 2001, the 22-year-old star lost her life in a tragic plane crash. Her fans have stayed nothing short but dedicated to honoring her memory and keeping her spirit alive by supporting her music videos and purchasing physical copies of her music. The question over the years, however, remained the same, why can’t we stream her music yet? The reason is even more mysterious about why. Things are surely shifting as Aaliyah’s estate recently announced that the conversations are happening to finally get her music streamed to fans everywhere around the world. Aaliyah’s Estate had this to say, “To our loyal fans: We are excited to announce that communication has commenced between the estate and various record labels about the status of Aaliyah’s music catalog, as well as its availability on streaming platforms in the near future. Thank you for your continued love and support. More updates to come!”

All we have to do now is play the waiting game. Hopefully, we’ll see her music on all streaming platforms by the end of the year. Till then, continue to honor her memory.
