While EDC has always stuck to their guns with staying one weekend, it seems there’s evidence of Electric Forrest the weekend after extending to two different ones. The Festive owl Provides more detail:
EF News: The Festive Owl can confirm that EF has submitted permits to hold back to back weekend festivals in 2017. One source saying that the permits have ‘been signed’ and discussion among city council is “happening now but fully expect it to be approved.”
Considering the 5-day long camping festival has gained such high praise and a much higher demand as a result, this would not be a bad move. Recurring acts like The String Cheese Incident and Bassnectar are reason enough to be excited for a bigger opportunity to go to the forest, but the chance to experience such a magical mix of production and natural scenery shouldn’t be glazed over.
Electric Forest did “officially” announce they’ll be expanding to two weekends next year with the capacity for each weekend to be reduced by approximately 10% from 2016.
After careful and thoughtful consideration, Electric Forest is ready to take an amazing leap into the future. Forest HQ is incredibly excited to announce that Electric Forest 2017 will take place on two distinct and back-to-back weekends at a lower capacity. The dates will be:
Weekend 1: June 22 – 25
Weekend 2: June 29 – July 2
Over the past six years, the strength and spirit of the Forest Family have grown beyond our wildest dreams. But as we also grow in size, we keep coming back to one important question: How do we preserve intimacy and integrity while welcoming new friends?
