Out now on all digital platforms, Vast Caldera’s first self-titled EP is an audio-experience unlike any other. If you’re a fan of Ratatat and Zhu, then here’s a brand new artist for you with similar flavors. Fusing guitar instrumentation akin to Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, Vast Caldera gives listeners a modern taste of electronica. The 5-track EP’s listening experience is like sitting in the room with Vast Caldera during 5 different jam sessions. ‘Adamant’ and ‘Dawn’ are our personal favorites as it takes on darker themes of guitar riffs that accentuate Vast Caldera’s talents as a producer.

“Every track should be a journey that takes you to the horizon and back. The goal from day one was to capture the type of guitar riffs that I loved from the 70s and 80s and infuse it with the modern soundscape of electronic music.” – Vast Caldera

Vast Caldera is the brainchild of Justin Weiss, whose journey in music all began when he picked up his father’s iPod on a long family road trip. It was this exact moment that took Justin down the rabbit hole and eventually curate his Vast Caldera project. He took on guitar lessons to learn and mimic his idols Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Metallica. He dove into electronic bass music, seeking the sounds of Bassnectar and Pretty Lights, while honing his own style and sound on the guitar. This intersection of bass music and psychedelic rock was the final crossroad that naturally lead to Vast Caldera.
