Talk-show host Andy Slater broke the news on Twitter minutes ago that DJ Erick Morillo has died. The report is coming in from the Miami Beach police, who found his body this morning. The cause of his death is still unclear.

Morillo was arrested in August, accused of sexual battery.

Colombian-American DJ and producer Erick Morillo rose to international fame for his house music. His career spans decades and includes DJ Awards as well. He became a well-known name in the 90’s with his hit, “I Like to Move It.” The catchy tune is known by most, even if you don’t listen to house music.
In August, Morillo was arrested and charged with sexual battery in Miami Beach. Morillo’s DNA surfaced on the rape kit of his accuser, and he turned himself into the police.
Morillo was 49 years old.
