Damian Lazarus’ magical live project The Ancient Moons returns today with remixes of their new single Five Moons.

The band led by Lazarus, is comprised of Ben Chetwood on drums, Rob Gentry on keyboards, and new vocalist J Appiah. On ‘Five Moons’ they are also joined by the Australian punk sensation Chela for a dubbed out, soulful excursion into the darker recesses of the dancefloor.

With such a great record, Lazarus had to call in the big guns – Jamie Jones and Luciano both synonymous with DC10 in Ibiza where Damian is also resident. Jones delivers two remixes. Both of which take the original into a darker more dancefloor orientated direction. Igaza is a punchy dancey take on the original, while Jones Liquid Dub focuses strips back the vocals in favor of a late-night darker vibe.

Cadenza Records founder and Chilean DJ, Luciano was at the forefront of the booming South American electronic music scene in the mid-90s alongside fellow Chilean Ricardo Villalobos. His groundbreaking DC10 residency was followed by his Luciano & Friends and Vagabundos parties, making Luciano one of Ibiza’s true legends. Luciano brings forth an entirely different vibe for his remix. With gentle, swinging drums and a slowed down tempo, the track hits a smooth melodic groove that effortless compliments Australian vocalist Chela’s silky vocals.
