There’s something brand new coming right behind the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas; some call it the West’s own Madison Square Garden. Curious, then, that the company of the same name has just purchased a majority stake in TAO Group for $181 million.

While it seems like just yesterday that the T-Mobile Arena set foot in Vegas, indeed another huge venue has come into play; this particular space is now backed by the same people who own the New York Knicks. This new MSG is very close to the strip, and will be gaining the help of the same folks behind Marquee, Beauty & Essex, and Lavo.

“MSG Chairman James Dolan commented: “Tao Group is a unique and attractive business that furthers our focus on the ‘live experience’ while also exposing us to new areas of growth. Tao Group is creating the most innovative premium experiences in the entertainment, dining and hospitality industry — no one does it better.”

What events are to come here? We have a feeling plenty of electronic is going to make its way in the mix, but stay tuned for more news on what’s to come.
