The Mayor of Palm Springs, Christy Holstege, confirmed rumors that the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival won’t happen in April. Plenty of suspicions arose at the beginning of the year, considering the California festival’s big announcement almost immediately follows New Year’s Day.

The confirmation came from Holstege’s comments on Channel Q’s The Morning Beat with AJ and Mikalah: “We’re not planning on events in Spring this year. We’re hoping that those events will be rescheduled to the Fall of this year.”

Due to record case numbers and the slow rollout of a vaccine, it’s clear why there won’t be any big events anytime before the summer. With the incoming Biden administration promising 100 vaccines within the first 100 days, we could see more restrictions loosening up in time for shows at the end of the year.

Fans are patiently waiting for this pandemic to be over so we could all return to the dance floor as Coachella is on everyone’s top list of festivals they plan on returning to in the near, or distant, future. Hopefully, we get to see you all under the Indio heat yet again.

Listen out for updates from the official socials from Coachella.
