RealMusic Events is planning an ambitious feat: host their three-day festival, Seismic Dance Event, this May. In a lengthy announcement post, the promoter posted a huge lineup of artists to play at a yet unannounced venue in Austin, Texas. Their lineup includes Charlotte De Witte, Jonas Rathsman, Richie Hawtin, Walker and Royce, and Enrico Sangiuliano among several others. The million-dollar question is: will the pandemic have calmed down enough?

Their answer: hopefully, but not a guarantee. RealMusic plans to have several COVID 19 restrictions in place given the government allows the event to take place. They will cap the attendees at 2500 over more than 7 acres of space. The promoters have thought out a contingency, as detailed in the post:

It is important to note that in the event Seismic needs to be rescheduled (worst case scenario), the event will be pushed to November (12-14). All tickets will be transferred to the new dates but ticket holders can also opt to skip November and put their tickets towards Seismic in 2022 instead, should they desire. We also offer a ticket upgrade which guarantees a refund at any point should that ticket holder decide against attending and prefers a refund rather than transfer.

Texas reached a grim milestone of 2 million Covid cases at the beginning of 2021, with 24,000 reported today. Vaccines have reached all 254 counties and is currently rolling out its first wave of doses to long-term care facilities.
