St. Patrick’s Day is going to be a little less lucky in the Pacific Northwest.
Lucky Festival, a USC sponsored event, has officially been canceled. The St. Patrick’s Day-themed festival was supposed to occur at the Tacoma Dome March 13-15th. USC issued a statement today on the Lucky website as well as their social media:
Much to our regret, Lucky Festival 2020 has been cancelled. Due to recent events, we are unable to produce the event as scheduled. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are looking forward to the return of Lucky in March of 2021. Our other events will proceed as planned.
The festival is giving full refunds to anyone who purchased tickets, and they give details instructions on their site. All tickets are to be refunded from the point of purchase except Silver Platter locations, which need to email [email protected] for their refund. If you purchased your ticket online, a refund will be issued automatically following confirmation from Ticketmaster. If you purchased a ticket at the Dome, you have to go to the Box Office during business hours.
USC has been combatting a lawsuit with Insomniac Events over an alleged breach of contract in regard to failing to pay their artists for playing Paradiso at The Gorge back in 2019. The lawsuit may have had an effect on USC’s ability to put on Lucky. Whether USC will have any other issues this year remains to be seen.
