In a time in which we take an hour to two hour long sets from DJs for granted, one very short yearly set ends up being the biggest highlight of the summer: Defqon1’s live stream. This year’s 11-minute closing ceremony. The gargantuan arena where the ceremony took place sounded off Headhunterz and Sub Zero Project’s Our Church, followed by the anthemic Legends Never Die from League of Legends as well as the Wildstylez bootleg. The ceremony gave meaningful closure to three days of intense Hardstyle and several stages. In fact, this kind of final gathering sets a strong standard for giving an entire festival population a sense of unity after having so many different experiences.

“You have been a part of the best festival experience known to man. This is why Defqon is number one. And it doesn’t matter what kind of style you like. Because of this weekend. In this house. We only represent one thing…and one thing only. We represent the hardest styles in Dance Music.”
